Join us for an expert led tour of the only UNESCO listed World Heritage site where you can stay overnight, Taut’s Home, with the private owners and designer’s couple Ben Buschfeld and Katrin Lesser. who are the stewards of the house since 2015. They will give an exclusive online tour of this Mid Century Modern masterpiece, followed by a live Q&A.
Taut’s Home is a cultural treasure with the character of a museum carefully restored to fit the needs of an accommodation. The distinctive, white building with clean, angular lines designed by Bruno Taut and revived by the private owners is recalling the Bauhaus Modernism. It is part of the famous 'Horseshoe Estate' and probably the only house where Taut´s interior colour scheme has been completely renewed and where all the historical tile stoves are still in place. All furnishings are either hand-picked originals or made to measure from vintage 1930s models. In 2013 the restoration was awarded the prestigious EU Prize for Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra Award. The front yard has been restored according to the original blueprint too.
