Architect: A. Quincy Jones, 1966
Our host on site is Kristin Stone, Managing Director of The Pasadena Tour Company.

Janice Lyle, Director of Sunnylands gives an extensive tour of Walter and Leonore Annenberg's winter home in Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs.

Archibald Quincy Jones FAIA (1913–1979) was a Los Angeles-based architect and educator known for innovative modernist buildings in and for urban planning that pioneered the use of greenbelts and green design. He designed the winter home of Walter and Leonore Annenberg in Palm Springs in 1966. The 25,000-square-foot residence is a classic example of California Midcentury Modern architecture. Interior furnishings were designed in the Hollywood Regency style by William Haines. Jones and landscape architect Emmet Wemple provided initial designs for the park-like grounds while premier golf-course designer Dick Wilson refined the layout of the golf course on the 200-acre estate.
